ARMY Camps Out in the Central Park for BTS’ ‘GMA’ Summer Concert
Fans of K-pop boy group BTS were seen camping out in the Central Park, New York City, to see the group’s upcoming outdoor performance.
On May 15 (local time), BTS will be performing live at an outdoor stage (Rumsey Playfield) in the Central Park as a part of ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ Summer Concert Series.
As the free tickets for the upcoming event were only available in first-come-first-served basis, a lot of ARMYs (BTS’ fandom) are pitching tents inside or near the Central Park hoping to see the performance of their favorite boy group.
According to NYPD, however, tents are not permitted while sitting and standing in an orderly line are allowed.
A NYPD deputy inspector even left a precautionary announcement via social media on May 10, “Trust us, we’re just as excited as you are about the BTS concert at ‘Summer Stage’ next Wednesday, but…”
The officer continued, “For your safety, camping out in the concrete jungle is not permitted. Please don’t pitch tents in or outside the Central Park.”
This is not the first time for ARMYs to camp out before the group’s performance.
During BTS’ North American leg of its ‘LOVE YOURSELF’ world tour last year, hundreds of ARMYs attending the concerts camped outside the venue to take the opportunity to see BTS’ rehearsal.
Meanwhile, BTS is scheduled to bring its ongoing stadium tour ‘LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF’ to MetLife Stadium
